Dress Code
The school uniform/dress code plays a valuable role in contributing to the ethos of a school and setting an appropriate tone.
Mother Goose® International Pre-school strongly encourages students to wear a uniform / respect the dress code as it can instil pride, support positive behaviour and discipline; encourage identity with, and support for, school ethos; ensure pupils of all races and backgrounds feel welcome; protect children from social pressures to dress in a particular way; and nurture cohesion and promote good relations between different groups of pupils. Above all, we believe that the school uniform/dress code supports effective teaching and learning.
Why do children wear a uniform/respect the dress code at Mother Goose® International Pre-school?
- All the children look the same as their friends and it instils a feeling of belonging to a group even if they have not learned to speak English yet.
- It stops children from worrying about what to wear each day and makes dressing up in the mornings easy.
- Everyone is equal regardless of where they come from and the household income is not visible.
- Parents do not have to shop for expensive and varied wardrobes for their children to keep up with or show-off to other children.
- Helping parents and children resist peer pressure.
- Wearing a uniform instils a sense of pride and manners in students.
